Allison + Paul, Osteria via Stato, Chicago, IL

This unseasonably warm Fall reminded me of one of my favorite spring weddings… Allison + Paul. And actually on their wedding day in April, it SNOWED! You gotta love our Chicago wedding weather, at least all the guests from Ireland did…

Allison wanted to incorporate elements that were important to the couple, into their wedding, which we LOVE. For instance, her mom had a floral crown of daisies, so we created a modern version of that for Allison. And being that Paul was from Ireland, Allison wanted to incorporate elements respective to Ireland. So we created boutonnieres to have a “touch” of a shamrock.

Allison’s bridal bouquet was Spring’s perfection of blooms with hyacinth, varieties of daffodils, fresh lavender (had to add that Irish touch!), and daisy-like blooms. We were also able to surprise her with a variety of arching sweet peas that were too perfect to pass up and truly completed her bouquet.

The bridesmaids wore slate grey dresses and we used a little more yellow tones incorporating fun elements like craspedia, and that perfect touch of lavender lisianthus. All of the bouquets were so fragrant with herbs of myrtle, and lavenders. Allison didn’t want to leave out the bridesmaids with the hair floral trend, so we added something special for each bridesmaid and made the sweetest floral barrettes of lavender and myrtle to be tucked into their hair.

Holy Family Catholic Church is so stunning and of course beautifully decorated already, so we chose to just accent it with two arrangements at the altar, along with a unity candle wreath.

We loved highlighting the mother of the bride’s collection of vintage bottles using lisianthus, stock, herbs, and arching greens. A touch of elegance was also added with beveled mirrors to really finalize the design. It was so fun creating this eclectic design at our favorite pizza spot in the city, Osteria Via Stato. It was the perfect venue for an intimate celebration. The stone walls, rustic farm tables, and candles galore make this one of my favorites!
