This was a Chicago wedding at it’s finest! We loved creating so much floral beauty for Kelsey and Kevin’s rooftop ceremony and gallery reception. Their day was inspired by Monet’s watercolors and the entire wedding had an eclectic and artsy vibe, which was so much fun to play with for summer. We utilized unstructured and seasonal blooms along with a whole lot of summer colors, metallics, and textures.
Our first meeting with Kelsey was amazing! On a cold wintery day, we had hot chocolate warming us up until we dove into the wedding design! The magic just evolved into the beauty captured by Laura Witherow Photography! Kelsey had a unique vision, that was perfect for the setting. Wanting to use artistic vessels, “un-fussy” blooms, and unique designs, we really had a lot of fun with this wedding from concept to completion.
Kelsey carried an unstructured and hand-tied bouquet inspired by summer and the work of Monet. It consisted of beautiful blends of soft and bright hues of pink, magenta, yellow, peach, orange, pale blue, purple-blue, and a delicate touch of soft greens. Seasonal flowers of queen anne’s lace, stock, roses, tulips, delphinium, hydrangea, veronica, and ranunculus made up the bouquet blooms. Her bridesmaids carried a muted version of the bridal bouquet, with handles wrapped in custom dyed silk ribbon tying in the all of the elements. Ha ha! Get it, “tying!” And how stunning is Kelsey’s dress? That back is so perfect!
We can’t leave the guys out, when they have stunning boutonnieres like these! Apricot ranunculus, blue delphinium, white veronica, a touch of calcynia, and an accent of “purple feather” acacia, to be precise. All wrapped up in a perfect finish of hand dyed silk ribbon, of course.
For the ceremony, and then repurposed for the reception, we created a simplistic copper arch framing couple and the city view with a delicate touch of floral clusters and a winding lace-like detail of trailing vines. I can’t get over how picture perfect the ceremony was! The centerpieces for the guest tables were artistic, light, airy, and eclectic. Which was so perfect at Lacuna Lofts! To help the guests find their table, we also showcased our clear table numbers with a rose gold font (created by our sweet friendor Greenstar Paperie). And their napkins were the perfect color complement.
Laura Witherow Photography captured this magical day perfectly. Their vows and that raw emotion?! Wow!
We loved covering their simple one layer cake from Vanille Patisserie with beautiful florals! Honestly, the florals did the work for us, I had to restrain myself from adding more!
Thank you to Kelsey and Kevin for having us “floralize” your beautiful day. It truly is an honor to have worked with such an amazing couple. Wishing you a million years of happiness!
