When I look back at this gorgeous wedding, what comes to mind is vintage elegance with a twist of fun! The history and refinement of The Grand Ballroom at Joliet Union Station is the perfect space for a classic and romantic wedding and beautifully showcased the worldly accents on display throughout the wedding. Along with a fabulous color palette of plum, grey, and a hint of coral – be still my heart!
Let’s start off with a bit of history. Becca and Aaron had a long distance relationship, being in the Navy. Luckily for the couple, they’ve been able to travel all over the world to see each other! The furthest location being Japan! Lucky right? So of course we incorporated elements such as older books, vintage luggage, and globes. Becca is a teacher, so she had no problem sourcing the globes. They even had their guests throw colorful paper airplanes during their exit! They are the sweetest couple and made me laugh so much…how else can you describe a couple that incorporates an inflatable dinosaur into their first look?!
One of the most well-traveled blooms are orchids, which Becca and Aaron both love, so we made sure to utilize them on their big day. We also incorporated hand-picked dahlias. Becca’s bridal bouquet was not your traditional white, it was composed of a variety of purple tones, and I couldn’t help myself with the gorgeous dahlias, exquisite orchids, and accents of eucalyptus. The bridesmaids wore plum dresses, which really emphasized the coral and softer purple tones.
Thank you to Rebecca and Aaron for having us “floralize” your beautiful day. It truly is an honor to have worked with such an amazing couple. Wishing you a million years of happiness!
