I blinked and the holidays are almost here! Let’s show those winter brides the love today with a favorite styled shoot of ours. I am a huge fan of the aesthetic of the 1950s, so I couldn’t resist when I was approached a few years ago about this shoot. To keep the classic look with modern touches, we went with a bold bridal bouquet of red! Texture upon texture, with feather-like foliage and a touch of pine cones. Romantic garden roses, ranunculus, berries, oh my heart just skips a beat reliving these moments! Red shoes and a custom-made veil really maximized the effect and evoked a true 50s feel. This winter styled shoot was originally featured on Le Magnifique Blog.
Our groom was also complete with a red boutonniere completed with a finish of textured raffia to tie in those wintery elements. We love the festive feel with his plaid bow tie!
The tablescape was designed so beautifully by Unveiled Events, we just added the winter elements of evergreens, berries, and touches of silver. Milk glass was a staple of the 1950s, and we added classic mint juleps and a few warm touches of petite lanterns.
Esther Gallarday Photography so perfectly captured the playfulness of the holiday spirit. Who’s naughty and who’s nice, right?!
This was an inspirational shoot, so I really got to think out of the box and play with the florals. A lantern dressed in floral as a bouquet alternative. This would be such a fun idea for the unconventional bride! As a tip, these could also be reused as centerpieces or head table decor!
For the classic winter bride, I also created the classic white bouquet touched by winter elements as well as a coordinating boutonniere for our groom. Can you see that petite pine cone? I can’t get over it!
Yes, that’s right, I also create a snowflake bouquet. I couldn’t help myself! Styled shoots just get my creative ideas flowing! I loved the classic tulips collared by the feathers and treated lace like foliage. And of course a boutonniere to complement our dapper groom.
Wishing you and yours the happiest holiday season!
