Jennifer and Andrew had a beautiful summer day for their organic and homespun wedding! A classic church ceremony at Holy Spirit Catholic Community and an exceptional reception at Emerson Creek Pottery + Tearoom. The venue is stunning in it’s own way, with elegant chandeliers in the barn for a beautiful cocktail hour and dance floor at night. Along with the airy tented reception overlooking the beautiful fields. All of this just outside of Chicago! Their wedding colors of blush, champagne, navy, and gold were the perfect complement with the soft and organic look to their florals. Focal elements of a king’s table centered by the rustic ladders draped in florals and acting as chandeliers. Jennifer and Andrew also had so many personal touches from the Toy Story detailing to the table names throughout the day and in their floral choices.
I had an instant connection with Jennifer from our very first meeting. Every idea I came up with kept getting better and better for us! I adore their engagement story of how Andrew literally planned everything down to the smallest detail, culminating in a trip to California! He even organized the time off for her! Who does that? This amazing couple!
Being that they also are “foodies” we wanted to infuse a lot of herbs and unexpected floral elements to the day, to really maximize J + A’s personalities.
Jennifer infused the perfect mix of rustic and elegance. Her dress was a stunning number with beautiful lace detail and her bouquet was lush, rounded and composed of a variety of white and blush roses, miniature garden roses, ranunculus, and soft touches of eucalyptus varieties and fresh rosemary adding texture and movement. We kept the stems exposed and kept the organic feel with hand-dyed silk ribbon. Andrew wore a boutonniere of fresh rosemary wrapped in champagne silk ribbon. For their gift table, the couple used our wooden “symmetry” box, enhanced with a floral cluster of coordinating wedding blooms and gold mercury candle holders, filled with event tealights to add softness and romance.
We love getting to create a big statement design piece for a wedding and for Jennifer and Andrew’s big day, it was the Ladder Enhancement! We added lush greenery and blooms along the length of the ladder designed to playfully intertwine with the Edison bulbs. Below the ladder, on the head table, we created a runner design of garland interspersed with gold terrariums filled with event votives adding softness and romance. Their cake was perfect for the style and we’re sure it was just as delicious as it was beautiful!
Thank you to Jennifer and Andrew for having us “floralize” your beautiful day. It truly is an honor to have worked with such an amazing couple. Wishing you a million years of happiness!
